By performing actions that simulate the motions of actual musicians, you can play the drums in a marching band, strum a sitar along with some Indian raga music, play the congas in a hot salsa ensemble, or blow the sax with a cool jazz combo.
Like many of the other innovative new Wii games, Wii music incorporates an active user interface that is also very intuitive; since the controller actions are more like what you would do in "real life," the usual complicated keys and buttons are largely eliminated from the equation.
